The subject introduces the theory and practical application of financial accounting in investment and corporate financial management. Students are able to collect and analyze financial accounting data as well as make financial reports according to different accounting regulations, assess the impact of the legal regulations to the financial reports. Moreover, analysis of financial statements can support decision-making regarding investing, lending, liquidity, and risk. All finance professionals, including participants in the investment community, banking, corporate managers, and external analysts, must be proficient in interpreting and evaluating information presented in business finance. Students will be introduced to the new International Financial Reporting Standards; be instructed in methods to properly assess the true financial health, performance of a firm to make realistic valuations, financial decisions in different industries and economic conditions.
