Môn học này tập trung vào việc kiểm tra các vấn đề xã hội được quy định như thế nào, chính sách xã hội đã được xây dựng, và các mô hình lý thuyết xã hội được thông qua trong các bối cảnh xã hội khác nhau. Môn học cũng thảo luận về các mối quan hệ giữa các chính sách xã hội và các dịch vụ xã hội từ góc độ xuyên quốc gia về một số nước trong khu vực Đông Nam Á. Sinh viên phải phân tích những thách thức và hạn chế trong hệ thống khuôn khổ các hoàn cảnh kinh tế và chính trị-xã hội của các quốc gia cụ thể. Phân tích các vấn đề chính sách và dịch vụ xã hội được lựa chọn của các xã hội trong khu vực Đông Nam Á sẽ không thể thiếu trong môn học.
In this course, students will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of quantitative research design and method through applied exercises and a final exercise.
At the end of the course participants are expected to:
- Understand the basic notion of statistics in research
- Know designs used to conduct research
- Understand some key elements in research such as selection of criteria of subjects, variables, measurement scales of variables, and hypothesis
- Learn various statistical techniques used to analyze data
- Be able to interpret results and draw conclusion

2. Calculate and explain Crosstabs, Chi-square tests, z-scores, confidence intervals and t-tests;
3. Apply and relate the general logic of inferential statistical methods, including-tests, chi-square tests, crosstabs, and analysis of variance (ANOVA).
